Job Description: Assistant General Manager

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant General Manager to assist in overseeing the operations at the Holiday Inn and Suites Gateway. In this role, you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the hotel, focusing on guest satisfaction, employee management, and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in daily operations and assigning tasks to department heads.
  • Provide training to staff and uphold hotel policies and procedures.
  • Act as the public relations director, promoting the property in the industry and local community.
  • Monitor guest feedback and ensure prompt resolution of complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with operating standards and regulations.
  • Assist in wage surveys, property inspections, and maintenance management.
  • Provide leadership, effective communication, and uphold grooming and service standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and audits to drive continuous improvement.

Prerequisites:

Strong management skills, availability for flexible schedules, and a degree in hotel management or related field. Proficiency in financial accounting, personnel supervision, and computer systems.

Experience:

5 to 10 years in hospitality, with 3 to 4 years as an Assistant General Manager. International experience preferred.

Language Skills:

Proficient in English for reading, writing, and effective communication.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other hotel software programs.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, lift weights, and work in changing environments.

Work Environment:

Effective in stressful environments, adaptable to changes, and open to feedback.
