We are looking for a full-time Medical Lab Assistant to join our Microbiology team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As part of our renowned 656-bed hospital, you will play a crucial role in contributing to patient care and promoting a cooperative working environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative workspace.
• Ensure specimens are collected according to laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient samples.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Organize workload efficiently and support coworkers for productivity.
• Follow protocols for specimen handling and transportation.
• Perform patient registration, lab test ordering, and specimen processing.
• Adhere to infection control practices and proper specimen transport.
• Conduct drug screen collections and processing.
• Monitor phlebotomy draw lists and assign tasks accordingly.
• Engage in self-evaluation to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Promote service excellence and contribute to laboratory growth.
• Collaborate with various departments for multi-functional support.
• Conduct laboratory tests and assist with equipment preparation.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and strong customer service abilities.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Certification as a phlebotomist upon hire.
• Certification as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in a clinical setting is desirable.
