Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join The University of Vermont Health Network as part of our Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit team. As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients throughout their perioperative experience, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver patient care before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.
• Monitor patients closely during procedures, providing support to physicians and ensuring patient safety.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and prevent complications through effective pain management and education.
• Develop proficiency in two of the following areas: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required; PALS certification within 12 months of hire.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to customer service.
• Flexibility, willingness to learn, and ability to multitask effectively.
