Job Description

Unit Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at The University of Vermont Health Network, you will be part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team committed to evidence-based practice and excellence in patient care. The MICU is a 21-bed unit that provides critical care for patients with complex medical conditions, necessitating keen assessment and clinical skills. Nurses in the MICU actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and research projects, collaborating with various healthcare professionals to deliver the highest standard of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities.

Education:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont. The University of Vermont Medical Center encourages BSN qualification, with new hires or promoted employees required to obtain a BSN as per the offer terms.

Experience:
Prior experience in a specialized clinical area, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.

On-call: Not required.

Incentives: External candidates with over one year of experience may be eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $10,000 (pro-rated for part-time roles).
