Job Description

We are looking for a Store Management Trainee to join our team at Aldi. As a Store Management Trainee, you will be trained in all aspects of running a store effectively, preparing you for a future store management role. You will supervise daily store operations, ensure overall store performance, manage staffing needs, schedules, and operational plans, while also mentoring and developing the team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day store activities to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate and model company core values to create a sense of teamwork.
  • Handle customer concerns and ensure resolutions are achieved.
  • Maintain store signage, product quality, and freshness standards.
  • Manage hiring processes, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new staff.
  • Plan and adjust weekly store schedules to meet staffing requirements.
  • Set job expectations and provide performance feedback to team members.
  • Conduct store meetings and training sessions for staff development.
  • Monitor store budget, payroll, and total loss targets.
  • Stay informed on local market trends and competitor activities to make strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Manage product merchandising, stock levels, and inventory reconciliation.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated customer service and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in budget management and personnel supervision.
  • Proficiency in operating cash registers and store equipment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Compliance with state and local regulations for alcohol sales.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive retail experience required.
  • Prior management experience is a plus.
